Everlasting Change

A rose blooms and then withers. People are born, grow old, and then die. The sea pounds at the shore and turns stone to sand. The spring gives way to summer and the summer to fall. The stars race across the heavens. Is anything permanent? Is anything exempt from change? Why then do we constantly struggle with it? Why can’t we embrace it? Why do we fight it tooth and nail?

Quote from Heraclitus: There is nothing permanent except change.
