Tool Of The Tools

A man sits glued to his computer through the long night to the very break of day. While he stares at pretty pictures, plays games, jots notes, laughs at silly one line jokes, and interacts with dozens of his closest virtual friends, the real world around him dissolves into nothingness. And if not for the occasional urge to relieve himself or to crack open a beer would he even notice how stiff his body has become? This brings up a disturbing question: Is the man the master of his universe, or has the machine gained the upper hand? We think Henry David Thoreau had an interesting point when he said:
