Should We?

Just because we can, should we? We can build robots to our hearts content with the purpose of making life easier, but will it be? What about the job a robot takes away from a man? Will he lose his income? We can redesign plants to make them insect resistant, but should we? What of the unknown potential for making an edible plant toxic? What of the risk for making plants less genetically diverse? We can create a virus with the intent to learn how to create its anti-virus, but should we? What prevents the virus from escaping a lab? What prevents the virus from mutating on its own? We can all become wired 24/7 by putting a chip in our heads. Should we? Who benefits? Why is it a good thing? We think American author Alfred A. Monapert had a point when he said:

A quote by Alfred Montapert: "Do not confuse motion and progress. A rocking horse keeps moving but does not make any progress."
